I was able to dig through my hard drive and locate the original JPEG file of S.E. Summers’ novel cover artwork of her children’s book, “Lucinda and the Blue Hand”, post accidental dump of my Recycle Bin.
In the world of Windows OS (Operating System) computing and via Command Prompt (MS-DOS), and after much shuffling through my very mundane computer existence, I was able to bring this file back to life. The JPEG file was restored and without any damage to it, so even better! If you want to understand how to do this yourself, check out this guide at: Geekgirls.com for Recovering Deleted Files via MS-DOS, Command Prompt.
If you’re unable to restore your missing file, they also list various software programs that will enable you to recover most missing files. I’ve used Recuva in the past and it’s fairly decent. This specific program also has an unpaid version with fewer features but it usually does the job quite nicely. Many thanks to the gals over at Geekgirls.com :D
November 25th 2013:
I’m a fiddler with graphics programs so I did some doodling with Serif Publisher and Adobe PS. Basically, a few covers for some nifty people who wrote pretty amazing stories and novels. Yup, they were actually brave enough to take a chance on my “artwork” and allow me to doodle for them. Thank you!
All fonts are sourced from: www.dafont.com They are for personal usage only by these authors. If they choose to use my graphics with those fonts then I would imagine they will need a commercial license. But hopefully by that time they will be able to hire an actual artist, not just a *doodler ;)
If you want a doodle for a novel or story, or for your own blog/website, drop me a line. I’m cheap (free!) because I don’t have any actual skills or talent in art…so that’s part of the charm, diving head first into my “artwork” and never quite knowing what I’ll produce for you. Because really, I don’t know either how it will turn out until it’s done. Cross your fingers and hope for the best! ;)
