Crack your knuckles, warm up your computer, and drink some coffee! Here are the St. Patrick’s Day prompts especially written for us by @FuckinPrompts at https://milklunchbiscuits.wordpress.com.
And, We’re Back! Join Us For The 2018 52 Week Short Story Writing Challenge! The first prompt will be posted on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday March 17th, 2018. Simple, right? And we’ll, “Keep it simple, stupid.” Same as last year, along with these posts, I will include various writing tidbits, tips and ideas on how to accomplish this writing feat from myself and various authors. We hope you’ll take a chance and write with us this year, especially if you’ve been experiencing writer’s block and need something to motivate you, this is it!
5. Craft a short story about the best prank your cat ever played on you. 7. Write a spectacularly ghoulish Halloween acrostic and use one or a few of these famous Internet cats in it:
#FreeMalwareTech 5. A super-intelligent cat named Snoopy convinces humans to make great improvements in the cyber world.
“Ever read a story, novel or poem and wonder why you’re unable to identify with it? Perhaps you decide to stick with it and struggle through reading it. But now you’re left unsatisfied with how it was told to you. What exactly was the issue with it, why couldn’t you just get into it? Sometimes it’s as simple as the Point of View it was told to you in.”
“Therapeutic writing was first studied and developed in the late 1980’s by American social psychologist Dr. James W. Pennebaker. It has also been extensively researched and written about by Dr. Gillie Bolton in the UK also. “
“Use simple words that pack the most meaningful punch. Your writing shouldn’t need dictionary, a thesaurus and Wikipedia just to digest it.”
Lord of the Flies & the #Psychology of #Politics. “Maybe there is a beast… maybe it’s only us.”¹ Simon, Lord Of The Flies #essay #amwriting #writing #amreading #reading #books #classics #novels #fiction
“In Lord of Flies, we also see the archetypes that Freud described of the Superego, Ego and Id, or Freudian Trio in the three main characters. Piggy represents the Superego; Ralph the Ego; and Jack the Id. It’s presented as a way of understanding how politics and leadership works but it’s also detailing parts of ourselves. In today’s world, most especially in American politics, these archetypes still exist and play out—insightful, intelligent and wise Bernie Sanders is like bespectacled Piggy, the Superego; decisive, shrewd and realistic Hillary Clinton is much like Ralph, the Ego; and impulsive, brash and narcissistic Donald Trump is like a lot like antagonist Jack, the Id. Or so the narrative has been framed for the consuming public.”
The first writing prompt is up! Could go many different ways, from Bizzaro fiction to Horror to even a Thriller or Drama, your choice. The genre I’ll leave up to you guys…
14. Use any (or all) of these occult and religious symbols in a spooky poem or story: A Sigillum Dei; An Ankh; A Pentacle; A Rosy Cross; A Nazar and/or An Evil Eye.

Two more short films of my poetry :)
“I decided to make three of my poems into short films. One of I which, I hope to use for an article on Page to Pixels about Spoken Word poetry. It was interesting process learning how to make a film—and surprisingly easier that I thought it would be. I used a very simple…”
“After speaking with 68 year-old Falk Stethin, I’m convinced expressive writing can do something profound for all of us. He’s been journaling and writing, mostly poetry for over 50 years. It’s personal in nature and he writes only for himself. He’s currently dealing with cancer and describes a sense of cathartic release while writing.2 He very kindly gave me a recent poem from his journal to publish on my site.”
10. A cinquain is a non-rhyming five-line poem that focuses on imagery and the natural world. Write a cinquain poem for Valentine’s Day.
